Train with intention
If invited to continue, register for the required four-hour training led by Jeff Maeck, Togetherness Collective's Governing Official.

Complete your appointment
After training, submit the required background check, agreements and membership fee to finalise your appointment process.

Your training is led by Jeff Maeck, Togetherness Collective's Governing Official and an officiant with experience across more than 2,000 weddings in Canada and internationally.

The discovery call comes first. If you and Togetherness Collective decide to move forward, the training and membership requirements are set out clearly before appointment.

Before your discovery call
What happens on the discovery call?
Jeff personally speaks with prospective officiants before training begins. It is a chance to share your story, ask questions and explore whether the community and role are the right fit—for you and for Togetherness Collective.
Can anyone become a Togetherness Collective officiant?
Not every applicant is appointed. Togetherness Collective looks for people whose values and approach genuinely align with the responsibility of serving couples with warmth, care and professionalism.
How long is the required training?
The required training course is four hours. It covers the legal and practical sides of wedding officiating in Ontario, including ceremony construction, consultations and marriage documentation.
What happens after training?
To complete the appointment process, applicants submit a background check, signed agreements and the required membership fee. Official appointment follows completion of those requirements.
When can I legally solemnise marriages in Ontario?
Only after you have completed the appointment process and received your official appointment as a registered religious officiant. Training alone does not authorise you to solemnise marriages.
What is the investment?
The training course fee is $500, paid when you register for training. The annual certification and membership fee is $1,000, due after training to maintain active appointed status and ongoing member support.
What if I need to change my training date?
Cancellations made 14 or more days before training receive a 50% refund. For cancellations within 14 days, the course fee is not refunded but may be applied to another training date within one year.
What support does membership include?
Members receive continuing training, practical resources, mentorship, legal and industry updates, a public directory profile and access to a community of fellow officiants.
