Joe Costa GTA, Ontario — Wedding Officiant

Officiating since 2025
Some officiants find their calling in quiet reflection. I found mine somewhere between a good movie and a parent-teacher interview.
I started out as a comedian and actor, which means I’m very comfortable speaking in front of a crowd—and slightly too comfortable reading a room. For the past 21 years, I’ve been a high school English teacher, which means I can project my voice without a microphone, spot a weak sentence from 30 feet away, and gently guide people toward saying what they actually mean (even if they didn’t know it yet).
Weddings are basically the perfect mix of storytelling, performance, and heartfelt truth. You’ve got an audience, a great plot, and strong characters.
My goal is simple: create a ceremony that sounds like you, feels like you, and keeps your guests listening—voluntarily. No droning. No clichés. And if we get a laugh and a tear in the same breath, even better.
